Job Overview:
The Quad Preparatory School is looking to hire a Senior Manager of People, Culture, and Operations to work with the Chief Operating Officer to create and maintain a safe and fulfilling workplace for all the staff. The Senior Manager of People, Culture, and Operations supports leadership and oversees workflow to ensure that the School's operations, policies, talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives align with our strategic plan.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Senior Manager of People, Culture, and Operations will:
- Act as a trusted advisor and support to COO and other senior leadership to promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality, collaboration, and transparency.
- Assess our current infrastructure, operations, policies, people strategies, priorities, systems, and processes to ensure school initiatives are aligned with the needs of the organization and supports our mission and values.
- Oversee school policies and processes including biweekly payroll, employee relations, benefits, talent acquisition, DEIB, analytics and reporting, onboarding, and performance management.
- Continuously meet with, coach and mentor People and Culture and Operations teams, and oversee their work, structure, and competencies to ensure alignment with current and future organizational needs. To be an advocate for the People and Culture and Operations teams and their work throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to collect, access, deliver, and leverage key people data for data driven decision making.
- Establish credibility with all employees as an effective listener and problem solver.
- Implement appropriate policies and programs for effective people management including programs for employee relations, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, and career development
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Act as lead liaison with TriNet, our PEO and other providers
- Stay abreast of the trends in HR practices and partner with colleagues to anticipate any impact and opportunities for the school.
- Ensure school policies are updated and communicated regularly to the staff.
- Work with leadership and task force members to drive DEIB initiatives throughout the organization.
- Regularly connect with leaders and employees throughout the year via calls, in-person, and virtual visits to learn the organization, know its people, and provide HR support to key departments, managers, and functions
- Lead the employee benefits function including year-round administration, annual renewals, leave management, onboarding and offboarding.
- Manage the annual performance and salary banding creation and review process to provide information to the Head of School and COO to guide core compensation programs.
- Investigate HRIS platforms to leverage technology to maintain HR records and reports, improve current workflows, respond to employee and manager questions
- Plan and execute the annual recruitment calendar to ensure the best possible candidates are hired for all positions.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a school setting. The school has two campuses approximately two blocks from each other. The Lower School campus is located on the first floor of a building and the Upper School campus is located on the fifth and sixth floors of a building with an elevator. This role requires working in various locations around the school and occasional travel to/from the campuses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and involves standing and walking. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items under 20 pounds. During fire drills, the employee, unless physically unable, will need to use the stairs to go to ground level from the fifth or sixth floor. Typing is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), Masters degree a plus
- 10+ years of Human Resources and Operations experience including at least five (5) in leadership roles, including staff management
- Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in Human Resources
- SHRM Certifications
- Masters degree
