The Human Resources Generalist will support Idyllwild Arts' Human Resources administrative needs, including payroll processing, HRIS database management, benefits administration; workers compensation and leaves, maintenance of employee records; coordinating annual effort reporting; and overseeing personnel systems.
The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Executive Director of People and Culture and will support the operations of the Human Resources Department.
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on, creative problem-solver, has previous generalist experience and wants to advance in the Human Resources field. The person needs to be extremely customer service oriented; always anticipating the employees' needs. A positive and collaborative attitude and teamwork approach are essential to be successful in this role.
IAF is looking for local HR candidates as this position doesn't provide housing or relocation.
Main Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Processing payroll for 200+ employees on a bi-weekly basis and year end reporting
- Administer benefits, leaves, and workers compensation
- As needed, assist with compensation, employee relations, employee recognition, recruiting, rewards and recognition, training, etc.
Physical/Sensory Demands:
While performing the duties of this position an incumbent may be required to:
- Regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paperwork both manually and on a computer;
- Reach with hands and arms and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse;
- Converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone, teleconferencing and in person.;
- Make public presentations;
- Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds;
- Traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus;
- Bend and stoop;
- Conduct tours and show visitors campus facilities;
- Provide their own transportation for campus and regional events;
- Work varying hours, including days, nights, and weekends and some holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years relevant Human Resources experience
- 1-3 years of Payroll experience
- HRIS and ATS experience. PayCom experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Knowledge of MS Office and Google Docs
- Understanding of CA employment laws
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelors Degree in related subject a plus
- Must complete a LiveScan background check and TB Test. MVR Report for DMV.
- Upon hire, this position will be required to get certified in First Aid and Harassment in the Workplace, as well as Mandated Reporting.
