The Summit Preparatory School of Southwest Missouri is seeking an academic professional in the following area for the 2023-2024 academic year:
Upper School Director (6th-12th)
The Summit, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a fully accredited, independent, non-profit, co-educational day school meeting the learning needs of 160+ students, Early Learners through High School. It is characterized by its progressive, student-centered philosophy, academically challenging curriculum, personalized, “deeper learning” approach, motivated students, small class sizes, close-knit community of parents, and talented, dedicated faculty and staff.
As The Summit's Upper School program continues to grow, the school is pleased to announce the new position of Upper School Director for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Upper School Director provides leadership and support to the students and faculty of the upper school (grades 6-12, appx. 60 students). As a member of the school’s academic leadership team, the Upper School Director is responsible for leading ongoing development of an engaging and rich upper school program and culture within the context of a dynamic and unique Early Learners through 12th grade school environment. The ideal candidate will support existing philosophy and traditions while growing and advancing the program.
The Summit offers a regionally competitive salary and benefits package for this full-time, 11-month position. This position would include some teaching responsibilities to be determined based on candidate qualifications and areas of expertise. Reporting date: August 2023.

Qualifications/Experience:
- Master’s degree in education, leadership, or related field
- Teacher certification (preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years experience in classroom/academic field or professional setting (preferred)
