The Director of Operations will be a member of the Operational Leadership Team and is responsible for the oversight of all campus and facility operations. The director manages a staff of 10+ full- and part-time individuals as well as outside contractors and vendors. The Director of Campus Operations will facilitate the management of operations, future planning and safety and security of all school facilities. In addition, the Director of Campus Operations will ensure a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in facility operations and project management, preferably in an educational setting. The candidate should have the ability to serve as an owner’s representative and have an interest in historic buildings. The candidate should hold a degree, ideally in management, engineering or a related field. The candidate should have experience in managing all phases of physical plant operation, maintenance and repair, planning, scheduling; federal, state, and local regulations; Knowledge and experience with state and local safety, fire, construction, and public access; an understanding of blueprints and building codes; and skilled in areas of budgeting, cost estimates and financial administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direction for all campus and facility operations including establishing procedures for maintenance, repair and/or replacement of School facilities, grounds and systems equipment.
- Manages resources for all school real estate assets, including but not limited to utilities, equipment, and personnel.
- Coordinates all external programming on campus with Facilities and Operations and Campus Safety.
- Manages all the internal and externally contracted vendors and staff involved in all departments under this role.
- Oversees the development and implementation of utility management and conservation programs.
- Oversees campus safety to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations.
- Develops and manages the annual operating budget as well as capital equipment and project budgets for all departments under this role.
- Works with design professionals to assist in the preparation of bid documents and specifications for capital and operating projects, and directs and oversees any construction and renovation activities and inventory control.
- Participates as an active member of the school's operational leadership team.
- Serves as a member of the Facilities Committee and Emergency Response Team, as well as serves as School Incident Commander during an Emergency Crisis.
