Upper School Math Teacher Job Description
The Peak School is a progressive, coeducational college preparatory middle and high school nestled in the high peaks of Summit County, Colorado. The Peak School is seeking a full-time upper school mathematics teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.
- The selected candidate should expect to teach 4 sections total plus electives.
- They will be expected to teach 3 sections of mathematics, across a cohesive curriculum that includes algebra, geometry, basic probability and statistics, and discrete topics which may also include pre-calculus or calculus. The remaining fourth section will be a physics course.
- The average total number of students taught in core classes by this position is 35.

Starting Salary: $47,000 - $55,000

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Interest in and demonstrated skill in working with middle and high school students
- A shared commitment to an inclusive community, and respect for differences
- Willingness to embrace and engage our Outdoor Education program
- Convey patience and empathy with adolescents
- Demonstrate fluency with academic technology that advances learning for students and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom experiences.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the subject area and possess an understanding of current teaching pedagogies.
- A growth mindset, active sense of humor, warm personality, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A successful applicant will enjoy the process of constructing and sharing original course materials and have an interest in incorporating technology and creating authentic problem-solving into the classroom.
