The Advancement Associate – Alumni Engagement will be responsible for managing and expanding the Academy’s alumni relations programs to build dynamic engagement between the Academy and its alumni. This position will also collaborate with the Director of Advancement and the Advancement Associate – Family and Community Engagement to execute annual giving strategies aimed at increasing giving across all constituencies. This position requires occasional weekend and evening hours, and reports to the Director of Advancement.

Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordination of alumni events, including annual Homecoming and Reunions and regional alumni and parent gatherings
- Working with the Alumni Association to develop alumni affinity for the Academy and promote the advancement of the Academy
- Supporting and strengthening the Class Ambassador program to provide regular updates on activities of their classmates, build interest and affinity among each class, and promote reunion attendance and giving
- Collaborating with the Director of Advancement and Advancement Associate to grow alumni participation in the Annual Fund and produce alumni-focused publications and communications (including the Academy magazine, the Annual Report, social media content, Advancement campaigns, etc.)
- Maintaining clear and accurate records in Raiser’s Edge NXT system
- Providing administrative support as needed, to include items such as Advancement mailings, data management and reporting, gift entry and acknowledgements, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years development/fundraising experience in independent schools and or non-profit organizations preferred
- Experience in event and volunteer management
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to follow through
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and customer service skills and ability to work effectively within a diverse community
- Strong written communication skills, particularly news and persuasive writing
- Proficiency with Google suite and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.); Adobe InDesign/Photoshop and video editing a plus
- Experience using CRM software, preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Must pass background check and must be COVID vaccinated or have medical or religious exemption
