SUMMARY
The school is seeking an outstanding educator for Head Football Coach/Game-Day Administrator. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that reports to the Head of Athletics. Some evening and weekend work is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the entire football program, including varsity, junior varsity, and Middle School teams and coaches.
- Work closely with the Head of Athletics on program development, training, and coaching of all football staff members. Perform all duties inherent to the role of head coach of an interscholastic varsity team.
- Oversee day-to-day and gameday management, including filming, sideline technology, statistics, timing schedules, equipment issues, inventory, and ordering.
- Work with the Head of Athletics to identify and attract potential student-athletes to Greenhill School within the school's admission guidelines and processes.
- Collaborate with the Head of Athletics on hiring, retention, evaluation, and professional development of the football coaching staff.
- Schedule and organize practice sessions.
- Schedule scrimmages/games in partnership with the Head of Athletics.
- Coordinate summer football camp/clinic selections with families of players wishing to be more competitive.
- Work closely with the Office of College Counseling in the recruitment/placement of players in NCAA/NAIA football programs.
- Oversee our Hornet Sports Association (HSA)
- Enter games on the website, online calendars, and event manager calendars.
- Send game information to assignors and ensure officials' game coverage.
- Coordinate game day management (announcers, scorekeepers, clock operators, setup).
- Confirm that officials are assigned to games and paid promptly.
- Generate additional support for the football program by partnering with others as needed across campus and in the community.
- Supervise home athletics events and serve as a game-day administrator for home games (outside of the football season)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Ability to plan effectively for instructions and maintain an environment for effective learning.
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate students.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Willingness to engage in self-evaluation concerning performance and professional growth.
- Creative strategies for motivating students of all ability levels.
- Willingness to work collaboratively and be a part of a team process.
- Desire to promote positive school/community relations.
- Enthusiasm, optimism, punctuality, dependability, and flexibility.
- First-aid/CPR/AED certifications.
- Have 3-5 years of prior coaching experience
- Have excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking) and a highly refined work ethic.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
