Mary McDowell Friends School (MMFS) invites applications for a Full Time Upper School Study Hall Supervisor starting immediately.
The position is for a person with interest and/or experience in education to facilitate structured study halls for groups of students.
Responsibilities and Duties Specific to the Role:
- To implement protocols and practices for the structured study halls as provided by the Speech Language Therapists and administration.
- To monitor student attendance
- To support students in integrating the study hall practices into their work
- To check student missed assignments and student support documents
- To make note of any student struggles and to liaise with the support team/advisor/dean/administration.
- Provide notes on study habits for reports.
- Give feedback to teachers about the time students are spending doing their work and the struggles or ease with which assignments are completed
- To facilitate 5 independent study hall periods per day.
- To participate in student-centered meetings

- Examine teaching practice through the lens of race, identity, equity, and privilege.
- Develop a curriculum that provides students with an opportunity to recognize their many identities
Requirements:
- BA Required, MA a plus
- 0-5 years of direct teaching experience; independent or charter school experience a plus
- Some special education experience a plus
- Strong oral and written communication with parents, children, and colleagues
- Commitment to equity and justice, including knowledge and skills related to cultural competencies
- Familiarity with new technologies; GSuite and Veracross a plus

This position's 2022-23 annual salary range is based on the required minimum years of teaching experience, and the degrees earned: $44,000 - $56,000. The final salary offered will be commensurate with verified educational and employment experience.
