Although $50,000 - $60,000 is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, The Logan School reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Office Associate is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Director of Finance and Operations. This individual manages the day-to-day administrative tasks required to keep a business office running smoothly and is responsible for maintaining accurate and thorough record-keeping within the school’s accounting databases. The business office associate is personable and responsive to inquiries and questions from the Logan DFO, employees and families.

The Business Office Associate is a salaried, non-exempt 1.0 FTE position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Human Resources:
- Provide and process all new hire paperwork including background checks, payroll setup, retirement plan contributions, benefit registration, etc.
- Support new employees with the onboarding process
- Track staff training completions
- Manage HR database
- Oversee and verify payment processing of health benefits and 403(b) contributions
- Assist with COBRA, benefit census information, and background checks
Financial:
- Collect all checks, copy and record for deposit
- Handle all ACH withdrawals for tuition payments
- Set up all student accounts
- Field trip billing and any other incidentals
- Work closely with accountant
- Accounts payable and receivables
- Verifying check requests with invoices and maintaining manual check log
- Transfer all incurred charges to student bills
- Balance postage drawer and meter
- Manage school vendor and club accounts (Amazon, Home Depot, etc.)
- Collect W-9s and COIs
- Reconcile reward cards and grocery certificates
- Contact families that are behind on their accounts
- Track student enrollment contracts and deposits
- Support the weekly check run
- Assist with the annual audit, financial aid, enrollment and contracting
- Purchasing
- Petty cash and p-card program administration
- Support the preparation of financial reports and bank reconciliation
- Enrollment contract and deposit record keeping
Additional Duties:
- Interact with families who have questions about their school accounts and provide documentation when requested
- Collaborate with the school administrative team in the operations of the school
- Provide clerical/ administrative support services such as filing, faxing, scheduling and copying
- Collaborate with DFO and technology team to evolve and develop electronic data management practices
- Back up to health room, front desk, student drop off and pick up support
- Collect and distribute mail
- Detail-oriented in verbal, virtual and written communication; support the communications office with copy editing.
- Shredding and recycling point of contact
- Other duties as assigned
