Landon School seeks qualified candidates to fill the full-time position of Associate Athletic Trainer; this position has a start date of August 1 for the 2023-2024 academic year. This position includes the oversight of all phases of the sports medicine department including: care, prevention and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries of the student-body. The Associate Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Athletics.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer to insure proper medical coverage for all Landon sporting events.
- Attend scheduled team practices and competitions, including but not limited to home and away events for sports as assigned.
- Initiate proper evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries.
- Prepare and maintain various records, reports and information on injuries, treatments, etc. for insurance, legal or professional purposes.
- Communicate athletic injuries with team physician, school nurse, parents and coaching staff
- Assisting in setting up Physician and Physical therapist referrals
- Follow and initiate Landon’s concussion protocol for all students
- Follow the NATA Code of Ethics. Remains current on all state and national requirements for license renewal.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in athletic training.
- 2-4 Years of experience in athletic training.
- NATA/BOC Certification, along with eligibility for Maryland State license
- First aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED certified.
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong commitment to professional growth, demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment, and experience working in a comprehensive sports medicine environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Health Care, Exercise Science, or related field.
- Experience in an athletic training program at the secondary school setting
