Mizzentop Day School seeks a music teacher for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year and beyond.  MDS is an independent  school located in Pawling, NY. The Music teacher will be responsible for teaching music as part of the school curriculum to PreK through 8th grade students. 

To be successful as a music teacher, you should create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music. A top-notch music teacher should be skilled in playing musical instruments, teaching private music lessons, planning concerts for student participation, and creating after school music clubs.

Music Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teaching general styles of music.

• Teaching classical piano, practical and theory.
• Teaching singing to students from beginner (PreK)  to advanced level (8th Grade).
• Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
• Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
• Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
• Building relationships and mentoring students.
• Giving private music lessons to students after school for an additional hourly rate.

Music Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in music.

• Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience (Preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
