Marymount School seeks an experienced, dynamic head teacher to lead a fifth grade homeroom. Experience teaching lower school or middle school aged children is a requirement, and ideally the candidate holds a master's degree in a specialized subject and/or in education/pedagogy. In the Lower Mid division, head teachers are the lead instructors for mathematics, language arts, and social studies. Experience with collaborative, project-based learning is a plus, and a willingness to embrace technology, as Marymount students use various technologies to support their learning, including 1:1 iPads. Teachers at Marymount lead student-centered lessons that develop students' skills in close reading, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Experience with Singapore Math and the Judith Hochman approach to expository writing a plus.
