Landon School is committed to the ethical, intellectual, and personal development of boys. We challenge and inspire them to think deeply, individually, and broadly; to live with respect and honor; and to grow into healthy, well-rounded men of integrity and character who seek to make a positive difference in the world around them.
Landon seeks a full time Visual Art/STEM teacher for the 2023-24 school year. Candidates from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who can inspire and engage boys are encouraged to apply. The professional attributes of collaboration, innovation, and positivity are important characteristics as well. The position will include teaching two Middle School Visual Art classes in addition to designing the school’s approach to brand new Maker Spaces around campus.
The Middle School Visual Art classes will teach grades 7 and 8, focusing on developing artistic technique and voice in a hands on, project oriented curriculum that includes Ceramics as an important component. The Maker Space work will include working with faculty to design collaborative projects, engaging with students in classwork and clubs, and building a mindset of innovation and growth with all constituents. The position includes participating fully in the co-curricular life of the school, whether through coaching in the athletic program, assisting in a performing arts production, or some other significant commitment to the lives of the boys outside of the classroom. Serving as an advisor to a group of students is also part of the responsibilities.
Landon School offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, an attractive 403(b) retirement plan, professional development opportunities, free lunch, and much more.
To apply for this position, please send a resume and cover letter, along with contact information for three professional references, to Charles Franklin at charles_franklin@landon.net. No phone inquiries please.
