POSITION OVERVIEW
The Math Instructional Leader will oversee teaching and learning in the Math Department. The Math Instructional leader will serve on the Instructional Leadership Team of the School, and is responsible for operationalizing Milken’s Educational Philosophy and upholding its Core Values and Mission. The Math Instructional Leader supervises teachers in the Math department to ensure healthy collaboration and ongoing high quality instruction. As a member of the Instructional Leader Team, the Math Instructional Leader reports directly to the Dean of Faculty.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and Learning

Sets professional departmental and individual goals with faculty members to support an ongoing plan for professional development.

Conducts classroom observations of Math teachers and offers regular and ongoing written and oral feedback to facilitate professional growth.

Participate in all Instructional Leadership Team meetings and training.

Review and provide feedback on faculty gradebooks, comments, website presence, and syllabi.

Work with the Chief Curriculum Officer on developing Milken’s math curricula.

Evaluate the quality of instruction with respect to standards and expected learning outcomes.

Facilitate the productive use of information resources and technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Work with the Division Heads and Chief Curriculum Officer to advise on the course placement process.

Oversee the consistent implementation of departmental and schoolwide policies.

Promote and track faculty-parent communication.

Collaborate with the Academic Support Directors and Head of Student Services to support the learning of our math students.

Communicate with Division Heads regarding department faculty professional growth and challenges.

Lead sessions for admissions events such as parent coffees, open house and feeder school visits.

Create and manage the Math Department budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Holds a Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field, and a minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience.

Educational Leadership experience in a school setting.

Strong sense of commitment to Milken Community School’s Mission, core values, and educational philosophy.

Highly committed to Jewish learning, life, and values.

Proficient with educational technology platforms.

Is a committed educator, who displays patience, innovation, and a love of learning in their work with colleagues and students, while creating an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Highly knowledgeable in best practices of curriculum, instruction, differentiation, and assessments.
SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $130,000.
