Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections of Spanish to Middle School students.
  • Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community.
  • Deliver the curriculum through classroom teaching and differentiated instruction.
  • Collaborate with a Spanish department that is committed to building language and communication skills while centering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Work with the Middle School principal, Middle School team, and the Leadership Team to ensure high quality education and the most engaging experience for students.
  • Use a variety of assessments, such as student portfolios and project-based learning to measure student learning and drive instruction. Provide feedback on student assignments in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.
  • Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days.
  • Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth
  • Other duties such as lunch/study hall/chaperoning/etc. as assigned by Middle School Principal.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience/expertise in Middle School education
  • Educational philosophy aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School
  • Resilient, mission-driven, and proactive in creating a supportive learning environment for students
  • Collaborative by nature, and an effective communicator with students, teachers, administrators, and families.
  • Proficiency in technology
  • Federal and State Background Check clearance and MSDE Employment History review
