Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 560 students age 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. This position is full time, 10-month position with occasional summer responsibilities, reporting to the Middle School Principal.
Responsibilities:
- Teach four sections of Spanish to Middle School students.
- Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community.
- Deliver the curriculum through classroom teaching and differentiated instruction.
- Collaborate with a Spanish department that is committed to building language and communication skills while centering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Work with the Middle School principal, Middle School team, and the Leadership Team to ensure high quality education and the most engaging experience for students.
- Use a variety of assessments, such as student portfolios and project-based learning to measure student learning and drive instruction. Provide feedback on student assignments in a timely and constructive manner.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.
- Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days.
- Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth
- Other duties such as lunch/study hall/chaperoning/etc. as assigned by Middle School Principal.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Demonstrated experience/expertise in Middle School education
