Prep School Library & Media Specialist
Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School seeks an innovative Library & Media Specialist to work with Prep School students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Encourage information and digital literacy
- Curate the library collection and displays
- Facilitate and encourage professional development related to technology integration for teachers
- Maintain and expand access to digital resources and technologies
- Collaborate on inquiry projects with teachers
- Perform clerical functions related to the maintenance of the collection
- Work collaboratively with the School to design and assist in implementing a technologically advanced media space
- Be supportive of the CGPS equity, justice and inclusion initiatives
- Facilitate a supplementary independent reading group for PS students
- Assist students and teachers with requests, independent study coursework, and computerized learning programs
- Orient users in the functions of the library
Work Hours
- 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
- Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
- Start date: January / February 2023
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $71,000 - $118,500. We offer exceptional benefits, and a warm and supportive culture.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science (or related discipline) preferred or comparable work experience in a similar position
- Specialized knowledge of library operations and procedures
- Ability to communicate with students
- Willingness to work independently as a creative professional while operating within the framework of the School’s policies and procedures
