The Nightingale-Bamford School is seeking candidates for the position of annual giving manager to serve as a thought partner in a highly collaborative advancement team and to lead the development of projects and initiatives that ensure the growth and success of the Nightingale Fund across constituencies. Reporting to the director of annual giving and leadership gifts, the annual giving manager will be the primary liaison for Nightingale Fund volunteers and will partner with the director on strategic initiatives including fundraising strategy and messaging. An integral member of the advancement team, the manager must be a dedicated, results-oriented professional with a passion for developing authentic relationships and working in a mission-driven and team-oriented department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team-player who is highly motivated, reliable, dedicated, creative, and eager to take initiative as a part of a fast-paced fundraising program. This is an in person, full time, 12 month exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Institutional Advancement Office to advance the mission and strategic goals of the school. Serve as a thought partner in the planning and execution of creative programming, fundraising strategy, and community messaging
- Build relationships with Nightingale community members across all constituencies
- In collaboration with the director of annual giving and leadership gifts, develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes dollar and participation goals
- In collaboration with the director of annual giving and leadership gifts, coordinate the development of strategic solicitation materials in association with the management of a robust annual giving calendar
- Cultivate and manage a comprehensive parent volunteer network, strengthening outreach and growing donor participation and dollars. Includes the preparation and distribution of training materials, class and assignment lists, progress reports, and strategic communications
- Partner with the Advancement team, including the director of alumnae relations, to identify an enhanced strategy for alumnae fundraising. Support alumnae volunteers as they encourage philanthropic support from their peers
- In collaboration with the director of annual giving and leadership gifts, evaluate opportunities to recruit and engage volunteers of other constituencies (grandparents, parents of alumnae, etc.) and support their efforts
- Respond to specific volunteer requests so as to support their fundraising efforts
- Collaborate with Advancement team members to integrate messaging and create a comprehensive engagement strategy that supports donor retention based on established annual goals. This necessitates consistent and cohesive messaging across social media, email, volunteer scripts, training materials, and website updates
- Analyze giving progress and data trends to help identify areas of growth
- In collaboration with the director of annual giving and leadership gifts, develop and execute plans in support of giving days (Giving Tuesday and Nightingale Gives)
- Work with the database manager to ensure accuracy of database and donor contact information
- Work closely with colleagues and vendors to confirm logistics and execution of Nightingale Fund materials and events
- Partner with the advancement associate to conduct prospect research as it pertains to the Nightingale Fund
- Support stewardship strategy across giving levels, celebrating new donors, consecutive donors, and renewed donors
- Staff evening and occasional weekend events and attend early morning meetings as needed
- Additional duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3–5 years full-time, related professional experience; preferably in non profit/educational fundraising
- A shared understanding of the mission of the School and a demonstrated commitment to the core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Must demonstrate cultural competence and be able to understand, appreciate, and work with constituents across varied backgrounds and cultures as well as all levels of employees, volunteers, trustees, donors, and prospective donors
- Database experience, with an understanding of fundraising data metrics (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, and have demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive and private data
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills (both orally and written); an ability to communicate complex issues, as well as to maintain open communication channels with relevant stakeholders
- High level of initiative, proven ability to work independently, good time-management skills, and ability to work within deadlines
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
