Linsly is seeking a full-time high school chemistry teacher with a start date of August 1st.
The essential duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Teach 5 sections of upper school science which will include a number of sections of Chemistry I
- Be a productive member of the science department by attending meetings, updating course curricula, seeking professional development opportunities, and supporting the goals of the department
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, overseeing their academic and social growth
- Lead or assist in extra-curricular activities such as clubs, debate team, or athletics
- Perform other non-teaching duties as assigned by the Headmaster
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field (an Advanced degree is preferred). He/she will have previous experience in a science classroom, as a teacher or teaching assistant. Most importantly, this person will certainly possess a passion for teaching, and a desire to foster the most effective learning environment for our students. We seek teachers who will strengthen our community by upholding our high academic standards and traditional values while bringing energy, creativity, and innovative teaching methods to our classrooms.
