National Cathedral School seeks a full-time science teacher to teach introductory physics and chemistry beginning August 2023. Qualified candidates will possess aptitude in teaching a variety of science topics and have a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Candidates are expected to have a willingness and ability to use differentiated instruction in the classroom and work collaboratively with the teaching team. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

NCS science teachers utilize a student-centered pedagogy and a laboratory-based science curriculum that makes extensive use of technology. Teachers are expected to be on campus from 7:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. Responsibilities include teaching, serving as an advisor for a group of 8-10 students, attending regular department, division, and faculty meetings, and working closely and collaboratively with grade level colleagues. Additional duties may be assigned. Salaries are competitive, based on experience and include a full benefits package including professional development.
