Founded in 1952, Norwood School is a coeducational, independent day school with approximately 450 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The School sits on 40 beautiful and expansive acres in Bethesda, Maryland, less than six miles from Washington, D.C. Substitute Teacher Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with a background in education or child development
• Love of elementary- and middle-school age children
• Solid understanding of child development
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to be "on-call" for both short-term and long-term positions
• Dependable, responsible and reliable
• Sense of humor
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Enthusiastic, energetic and flexible
• Three years of consistent teaching, preferred
