Job Title: Innovative Teacher

Essential Duties of the role: Duties may change and others may be assigned
The Innovation Teacher is responsible for teaching courses in our “innovative strands” in all divisions. Innovation Teachers at Friends are experienced educators, skilled in problem-based learning, experiential learning and real world problem-solving. Teachers in this role lead and facilitate courses in Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy and Medicine through Friends Academy’s innovative pedagogical approach. As a full time faculty position this role can include advising and supporting a co-curricular activity by coaching a sport or other school activity. All faculty members are expected to support and uphold the Quaker mission and educational philosophy, attend faculty and department meetings, and participate in other school sponsored events.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or other relevant degree; Advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Experience in Lower School, Middle School and Upper School
- Demonstrated mastery in problem-based learning pegagogy
- Korda Institute training preferred
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, forge partnerships, and model school mission and values.
- Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
