About the Position
Grace Church School seeks to hire a talented music teacher and passionate musician to serve as a high school and middle school strings teacher. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Instructing our 5th–8th cello students in group lessons
- Co-leading the middle school strings orchestra
- Directing the 9th–12th grade violin, viola, and cello students in their string chamber groups
- Collaborating with colleagues in the Music department on performances throughout the school year
- Other supervisory duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree required.
Ideal candidates will have a degree in music education, a deep understanding of string pedagogy, a positive and collaborative attitude, and the skills and desire to help the School to grow its program. The successful candidate will be able to foster student’s creativity and musical interests while providing them the foundational skills to express themselves on their instrument. Candidates should possess a diverse knowledge of string repertoire that will expose students to the classical canon, popular genres, and music composed by people of color.
