Job Summary:
Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. Founded in 1901 on the tenets of progressive education, the school currently enrolls 945 students and employs 200 dedicated faculty and staff members who, in addition to assistant teachers, substitute teachers and coaches, work together to ensure that the school lives up to its mission to “educate students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse, democratic society and global community.”
We are seeking an accomplished Music Teacher to join our expert faculty. The Music Teacher is responsible for directing three Upper School choirs for students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, and co-teaching with the middle school choir teacher in grades 6, 7, and 8, but should also be open to teaching students of all ages. The candidate should be an expert in vocal pedagogy and choral methods. This candidate should also be a proficient piano player who can support sectionals and rehearsals. The position includes serving as musical director for musical theater productions. Experience in the field of musical theater is required. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, enthusiasm, organizational skills, and a desire to collaborate are highly valued characteristics for this position.

Qualifications:
- Masters in Music or a closely related discipline preferred
- Significant choral experience
- Experience with music technology preferred
