Bethany School seeks a Fifth Grade Teacher beginning August 2023. Successful candidates are culturally competent, responsible, caring, and enthusiastic people who possess content area and pedagogical knowledge in English Language Arts and Social Studies, as well as in the ways these areas intersect with other content areas such as Art, Music, Math, and Science. Successful candidates will also demonstrate understanding of the developmental characteristics of children in the intermediate grade levels (3-5) and will have had positive experiences working with students in these grades. Compensation includes salary and benefits commensurate with education and experience.
Qualified Fifth Grade Teacher candidates will possess or demonstrate the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, the Humanities, or other related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- A commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Initiative regarding job-related tasks, responsibilities, and projects
- Collaborative skills and the ability to work well in team settings
- Prioritization of student safety and security
- Dependability and professionalism; be punctual, complete work in a timely manner, exhibit a consistent work ethic, maintain calm under pressure, and exercise sound judgment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally
- Proficiency in the use of technology; experience with Surface Pro devices, BenQ or other interactive boards, Google Classroom, Google Workspaces, Rediker SIS preferred
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

- Demonstrate content knowledge and expertise, and scaffold curriculum to ensure progress toward mastery of skills and concepts
- Collaborate and plan actively for learning

About Bethany School
Bethany School, the only K-8 Episcopal school in the state of Ohio, is a co-ed day school of about 200 students located in the northwestern suburban village of Glendale outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.
