The Orme School is searching for a math/science teacher to join us for the 2023 - 2024 school year. We are looking for someone with the ability to work with a broad range of students using differentiated instruction. The ability to teach a broad range of math is needed and a background in math-based science (physics, chemistry) is a plus. Are you that teacher that can create lifelong lovers of learning? Are you able to unlock a student's curiosity and desire to learn and explore? These are the attributes we value.
The Orme School is a very unique boarding school in the beautiful high desert of Arizona between Phoenix and Flagstaff. We are located on a working ranch in the Prescott National Forest, and we value place as part of our whole child approach to learning. Our teachers live on campus and assist with the residential and activity program. Our students come from all over the world, and our caring community is dedicated to creating sustainable relationships as lifelong learners.
Teachers generally have five assigned classes along with residential duties which include one night a week and one weekend every five weeks. Some after-school coaching or other activity, and student advising are also expected. Housing and meals are provided.
The Orme School is a 300-plus acre campus on a 20,000 acre working ranch. Dirt roads, stars, horses, cattle, and the Wild West are part of our past and present. There is easy access to Phoenix, Sedona, Prescott and Flagstaff for those times when only city lights will do. Our students come from as close as just-down-the-road to the farthest reaches of our world, making for a diverse and multi-cultural student population.
Preference given to candidates with high school teaching experience. A valid driver's license is also required.
