Sun Valley Community School in Sun Valley, Idaho, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Sun Valley Ski Academy (SVSA) Program Coordinator to join the school’s staff for the 2023-24 school year. This is a full-time position, with benefits, and school housing options to begin August 14, 2023. This unique position offers an energetic, and organized individual the opportunity to work closely with our SVSA Program Director in all facets of our thriving ski academy program.
The Program Coordinator supports our skiers and snowboarders by monitoring academic performance, offering support through one-one-one and group tutoring, working alongside faculty to ensure student-athletes are receiving the support they need, facilitating a plan for those who are not realizing their academic potential, and traveling regionally, nationally, or internationally periodically to academically support student-athletes while they train and compete.
Throughout the school year, the SVSA Academic Coordinator will have opportunities to expand their work with our faculty, communications team, Residential Program, Outdoor Program, and athletic programs depending on interest, background, and/or time restrictions or availability. Ski coaching with our partner, Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation is a distinct possibility with the right background and experience. If interested, Residential Advisor and/or Assistant Residential Coordinator roles may also be available. School housing may be available for the right candidate.

The ideal SVSA Academic Coordinator will have a competitive ski or snowboard background or understand the unique dynamics of being a high school student-athlete.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to connect with students and faculty and communicate clearly and in a timely manner with students, faculty, coaches, and parents. Candidates also should understand and embrace the unique Sun Valley Community School culture of a small independent school in a mountain resort town. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, and preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience working with adolescents.
