Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Head of School and Dean of Faculty, the Director of Entrepreneurship is responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop opportunities and experiences for students to understand and apply principles of entrepreneurship. The Director will lead by setting an excellent example of professional conduct, personal commitment, and positive attitude, and in particular, will build rapport with our students in order to engage them and ensure that they are integral to the work being done in the area of Entrepreneurship. The Director will serve to connect Lawrenceville community members to outside partners, including Lawrenceville’s extensive alumni network, along with innovators to develop opportunities for learning, collaborative endeavors, and internships.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, the inaugural Director will have the latitude to develop and create programming that engages our community and helps fulfill the aspirational vision at the heart of our School Mission.

• Develop a bold and practical vision for entrepreneurship at Lawrenceville
• Work closely with appropriate academic and administrative offices to create elective classes
• Champion Entrepreneurship & Innovation Competitions on and off campus
• Enhance Lawrenceville’s reputation as a leader in entrepreneurship curriculum
• Create a speakers series that is relevant to entrepreneurship
• Establish an innovative Summer Entrepreneurship Institute
• Teach two courses/term to be determined

Other responsibilities include the following:

• Advise five to eight students, and do one evening a week of “House duty,” providing supervision in a student residence from 7-11:30 pm. Although not necessarily starting their first year, faculty who reside in School-provided housing are expected to spend eight years living in one of the residential houses at some point in their career.
• Chaperone a weekend activity (dance, coffee house, etc.) one or two times a term.

• 1-5 years of teaching experience.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Experience with running a business.
• Strong entrepreneurial drive.

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
