Stevenson School is a PK-12 co-educational, college-preparatory, boarding and day school with enrollment of 770 students on two campuses in beautiful Central Coast California. The Upper Division campus (Grades 9-12) is located in Pebble Beach. The Lower/Middle Campus (Grades PK-8) is in nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea. Stevenson School is seeking a Digital Communications Coordinator to join our growing Communications team. Immediate start is preferred. Reporting to the Director of Digital Communications, the Digital Communications Coordinator (DCC) will manage systems and create and coordinate content for digital communications channels; including the website, social media, and e-newsletters.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced digital communications professional who possesses expertise across a wide variety of digital media, has high level systems experience, an interest in and aptitude for data analytics, and is a talented writer/editor with superior organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently. A positive attitude and enthusiasm to engage with all members of the School community are a must. This is a 12-month/year position. Portfolio samples will be required at point of application and a technical fluency screening will be included in the interview process.

Responsibilities Include:
- Support Director of Digital Communications and entire communications team in the planning, development, and execution of all Stevenson communications projects
- Collaborate with all members of communications team on strategic brand advancement
- Build templated registrations and integrated communications appropriate for all school events
- Engage with the school community on an ongoing basis to create content for the School website and all social media platforms
- Provide editorial content and coverage in support of special events, performing arts, athletics and other programs on campus, as well as Advancement and Admissions Office initiatives and those of other departments, as needed
- Partner with DDC to update and maintain the School’s website
- Maintain Stevenson’s website user portals ensuring currency and consistency with broader communications efforts
- Support maintenance and organization of the School’s email distribution process within Slate;
- Monitor communications department inbox and appropriately direct requests
- Help to manage and process incoming communication requests using a project management system (Monday.com)
- Edit content produced by colleagues within and external to Communications Department; proofing for accuracy and adherence to Stevenson guidelines
- Work closely and productively with all members of the Communications staff to understand timing of all projects and ensure cohesive messaging
- Support creation of and maintain department production schedule and monitor work “ticket” system
- Coordinate projects from point of request through to completion; ensure timely delivery via tracking and monitoring of status of all projects
- Manage social media channels and collaborate on strategies to heighten effectiveness of campaigns
- Provide website and digital platform analytics to share data-based recommendations
- Liaise with vendors and stay current with social media best practices and technology
- Conduct interviews, develop scripts, and distribute editorial content appropriately
- Attend school events to develop content and understanding of school culture
- Place all insertion orders and oversee processing of all invoices
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications or related
- 2+ years of meaningful experience in a communications/marketing role, preferably within an educational institution
- Ability to think strategically about the school’s communications needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; writing samples will be requested
- Superior proofreading ability
- Advanced ability with a wide array of communications technology, visual applications and programs including Google docs, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and all social media platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect with all members of the community and ability to creatively solve problems by working collaboratively with stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through production, meet deadlines while addressing competing priorities, and clearly communicate project status and needs
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large library of digital editorial content
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community
- Commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community
- Advanced knowledge of analytics for digital platforms (e.g., website, social media channels, etc.) and ability to develop recommendations based on data
- Familiarity with Slate and WordPress
- High level proficiency with a variety of systems and platforms and willingness and enthusiasm to quickly get up to speed with others, as needed
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite
- Strong design sense
- Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours, as needed
- Working knowledge of copyright laws, image licensing, digital privacy laws, and accessibility guidelines (i.e. WCAG 2.0)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Photography and video editing skills
- Previous experience in an independent school setting
- Background with brand management
- Spanish proficiency
