Maret School is looking for an inspiring and engaging humanities teacher and coach who reflects Maret's mission and core values. Maret seeks candidates who are lifelong learners and who have experience differentiating instructional strategies, strong communication skills, and a facility and nimbleness with technology.
In addition to teaching Upper or Middle School Humanities, the teacher in this position serves as an advisor to a group of students and, along with other advisors and grade deans, plans activities and supports student growth.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in their work. Full-time positions include one or more community responsibilities. This position is supervised by the chair of the Humanities Department.
As a teacher, the successful candidate will:
- Have experience teaching in the humanities, ideally, both English and history
- Have experience coaching different sports
- Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with Middle and/or Upper School students
- Be committed to professional development and collaboration with colleagues across disciplines
- Exhibit a deep passion for teaching and great enthusiasm for working with students of all ages and differing strengths
- Master’s degree preferred
