The Coordinator of HEART Enrichment and Summer at Sacred Heart has direct responsibility for the extracurricular activities of children at Academy of the Sacred Heart. Key duties are developing and managing programs, determining children’s needs and interests, managing staff, overseeing operations, and building relationships with the community. The Coordinator of HEART Enrichment and Summer at Sacred Heart is responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all after-school and summer programs.
The specific duties of the Coordinator include program development, prudent fiscal management and hiring of all support staff. The Coordinator provides safe, nurturing, and well-supervised enrichment and summer programs. S/he develops relationships with parents, students, team members, school management, volunteers, and visitors, displaying the school and the program positively. The Coordinator plans and develops the creative learning environment. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for the collection of program data, meeting with and providing reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The Coordinator of HEART Enrichment and Summer at Sacred Heart is responsible for all after school and summer programming, including the following:
- Supporting Academy of the Sacred Heart’s mission, philosophy, and values
- Creating, scheduling, and overseeing all extracurricular before school, after school, school breaks, childcare, enrichment, and summer camp operations
- Designing a program schedule and calendar that include a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities that align with school goals and needs
- Serving as the primary point person for communication for families and students for summer programs and activities
- Responding to family communications in a swift, clear, and collaborative manner
- Maintaining an active daily presence for children, families, and faculty
- Fulfilling all state licensing requirements and completing all necessary paperwork
- Completing payroll for summer and auxiliary program employees
- Compiling and maintaining all necessary records as required by the school and state licensing
- Collaborating with members of the Advancement Team for the promotion of programs to prospective and current families
- Collaborating with the CFO to develop a budget and ensure the profitability of the programs
- Collaborating with Learning Community Leaders regarding student needs, expectations, and behaviors
- Collaborating with the Facilities Officer to schedule activities in such a way as to minimize impact and disruption to school-day activities
- Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in HEART Enrichment and the summer program
- Reporting and documenting injuries or incidents utilizing established school procedures for notification to parents and school administration
- Interviewing, hiring, overseeing and managing all staff, students, and volunteers in the programs and activities
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an after-school program leader, excellent communication skills, ability to build rapport and trust with students, colleagues and families, and strong organizational skills. A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of Sacred Heart Schools is essential.
Basic requirements include but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education and/or in camp management or similar field
- Minimum of 3 years of camp experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
