Greenwich Academy, an independent college-preparatory day school for girls located in Greenwich, CT, seeks an Assistant Varsity Basketball coach for the 2023 - 2024 season. This part-time, seasonal position begins in November and ends in March.
Specific qualifications include significant experience coaching competitive basketball. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and collegiate basketball experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will effectively assist the head coach by teaching skills, strategies, and creating positive team culture while embracing the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting. Strong organizational skills and experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents will help the candidate succeed. Additionally, the coach will support and reflect the school’s mission and values and have the ability to effectively communicate these ideals.
Practices occur on weekdays from 3:30 - 5:30, ideally, the coach will work with our middle school program which practices from 2:00 - 3:20 with the exception of Wednesday and Fridays. There are approximately 18 games with a number occurring on Saturdays with some events being 2 hours away.
Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
