Martin J. Gottlieb Day School, an independent co-educational day school located in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a full-time, highly qualified Lower School Classroom Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. This position includes extended planning time as well as tuition remission in our Day School and Preschool programs.
Established in 1961, Martin J. Gottlieb Day School serves children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The school is part of the Jacksonville Jewish Center facility. Educators work as a team to support one another and the mission of the schools.
Overview:
Martin J. Gottlieb Day School expects talented educators who are passionate about teaching their subject and/or grade levels using a rich and rigorous curriculum. Each educator must have a demonstrated background and/or interest in curriculum development, education in a Jewish setting, STEAM integration and cultural competency. Also, each educator must be present with the belief in teaching to the interests of the whole child in mind. - Providing developmentally appropriate instruction and assessment in math, literacy, science, and social studies
- Differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of all students
- Integrating authentic, age-appropriate technology into curriculum
- Communicating sensitively, regularly, and honestly with parents
- Teaching an intentional social and emotional learning curriculum
Professional Qualifications:
- BA in elementary education or a related field
- Two years or more of lower school classroom teaching experience preferred
