The Montessori Day School of Brooklyn is seeking a joyful and passionate Early Childhood toddler teacher to join our amazing staff of educators. The ideal candidate should have their NYS certification and hold a certificate in Infant/ toddler Montessori instructions and should have experience working in a Montessori preschool program. The candidate must possess skills to work well with others and a deep understanding of the importance of a prepared learning environment.The ideal candidate will work to follow the children's interests, create and adapt the curriculum, and work closely with their co-lead and other team members to provide the best possible classroom experience for the children.

Responsibilities:

• Must be skilled in preparing and maintaining an emotionally responsive, nurturing, accepting, and safe classroom environment that provides both independent and social learning that meets the varying needs of the students.
• Conduct family conferences twice/year and write bi-weekly class notes and end of year narrative reports.
• Attend all faculty meetings; seek and attend professional development opportunities.
• Meet with the administration to discuss student growth and curriculum.
• Plan and implement the Toddler Montessori curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children ages 2's and 3's
• Early Childhood Education (Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred)
• NYS ECE certification (or in process)
• Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
• Experience working in a diverse and inclusive setting
• Montessori teacher certification a + (but will consider applicants on the pathway to receiving Montessori certification or Montessori experience)
• Experience working in an AMS Montessori environment preferred
• Strong desire for professional growth and development
• Proficiency in technology (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google apps, School Communication apps i.e Tadpoles, ParentSquare, BrightWheel)
• Strong ability to communicate effectively and confidently with team members, parents, and administrators
• Strong classroom management skills
• Energetic, responsible and professional
