Technology Integration Specialist Job Description
Chicago Jewish Day School is a multi-denominational Jewish day school serving over 220 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade Eight. CJDS provides a standard of excellence in both Judaic and General Studies, through an integrated, multi-sensory curriculum. CJDS is a leader in promoting togetherness, cooperation, and respect across all Jewish denominations.
The Technology Integration Specialist is primarily responsible for both coaching instructional staff to integrate technology meaningfully and consistently as well as providing instruction and support for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. This involves the knowledge and exercise of observation, training, the pedagogy of integration and content delivery for adult and child learners. Position reports directly to the Assistant Head of School and Director of Middle School.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborates with school-level instructional staff for instructional planning, co-teaching and modeling strategies for effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning.
- Integrates technology standards for each grade level into the technology learning taking place in the classrooms.
- Collaborates with instructional teams on curriculum development for technology integration.
- Identifies technology integration goals and priorities among instructional staff, in collaboration with leadership, and delivers appropriate coaching, training and resources to support professional growth.
- Researches new technology integration techniques and resources and disseminates to instructional staff and students.
- Maintains a current knowledge of effective instructional and coaching pedagogies.
- Understand and be able to design, develop and manage technology solutions for classrooms such as Google Classroom.
- Design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.
- Encourage use of the Makers Space by providing inspiration and support for faculty and students in developing and implementing new innovative learning opportunities.
- Plan, develop, and evaluate lessons for computer, keyboard, and internet skills to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 while integrating the core content objectives into lessons.
- Facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.
- Promote a positive learning environment that includes behavioral management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students.
- Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity while assisting students in connecting to technological principles in the real world.
- Be aware of and monitor internet usage for students as outlined by school policy.
- Teach internet safety and Digital Citizenship including personal responsibility for technology use and responsible use of technology
- Provides support for Faculty use of the Student Information System.
- Provides device and software troubleshooting/problem solving support to Faculty, Staff and students.
- Perform duties assigned by the administration in accordance with school policies, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree is desirable.
- Specific training in computer science or its use in the educational setting is required.
- Experience with Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, and Management Information System preferable.
- An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in the educational setting, particularly as regards mobile technology in a 1:1 learning environment.
- Competency with Mac and Windows computers and software, in particular Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite, Google Apps).
- Competency in iPadOS software, functionality, and iPad management.
- Competency in ChromeOS software, functionality, and Chromebook management.
- Current knowledge of available and emerging technologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with faculty regarding technology use in both oral and written form.
- Ability to effectively train faculty in technology use.
- Knowledge of sound teaching strategies.
