Miller School of Albemarle seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable STEAM teacher to join our faculty for the 2023-24 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high school students and a passion for hands-on learning.
Outside the classroom, the position includes working with the afternoon engineering team 2-3 seasons per year, acting as an advisor to a group of 8-9 students, and serving on a supervisory duty team.
A candidate should demonstrate a willingness to work as a team player and take on an active role in the vibrant Miller School community. A candidate should be inspired by the mission of Miller School and embrace the opportunity to serve as an example of our “mind, hands, and heart” philosophy for our students.
- A bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, math, or a related field
- A background teaching or working in a STEAM-related field
- Experience with project based learning
- Ability to oversee a hands-on, project-based curriculum focused on engineering concepts
- A passion for working with young people, coupled with a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
