The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through Grade12 college preparatory school of 1000+ students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, New York City. Position Summary: The Admissions Assistant supports the Lower School Admissions Team throughout the Admissions process, including pre- and post-season.
Reports to: Director of Admissions for the Lower School
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Communicate with prospective families in a timely, friendly and courteous manner
- Respond to prospective families' questions about the admissions process
- Process all applications and maintain admissions files
- Manage the Open House attendance list and waitlist
- Arrange meetings and schedule calls for the Director as requested
- Oversee and manage the Director of Admissions’ calendar and Lower School Admissions calendar
- Assist in creation of admission reports
- Organize materials for playgroups coordinate with the operations team to plan logistics for all events. Order office supplies and submit invoices to the Financial Edge accounting system
- Participate in all Admissions related events as required by the Director of Admissions
Expected Hours of Work
This is a 12-month, full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and will be scheduled in advance.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be proficient with all forms of electronic communication
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office/Excel, Google Forms/Sheet and able to learn new platforms as needed
- Proficiency with Ravenna and Veracross
- Love of children
- Comfortable interacting regularly with students and families
- Strong cross-cultural competencies
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and efficient
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible and maintain professionalism in a changing environment
- Able to collaborate with all departments and divisions in the school community
- Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- A desire to be part of a warm, engaging school community
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
