Greenwich Academy seeks a qualified assistant coach for its Varsity Crew program, for the fall and beyond! We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and dedicated individual to assist with the team’s 30+/- female athletes. Practice runs from approximately 3:00pm - 6:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am - 11:00am on Saturdays without competition. The ideal candidate will be able to attend all practices, and attendance at weekend competitions is also preferred, but flexible. In the fall, GA attends 3-5 head races between October and November, and in the spring GA competes as a NEIRA 4+’s school. The team practices in Cos Cob, on the Mianus River, or on Greenwich Academy's campus, a ten-minute drive from the water. The season runs from late August through the end of May.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior rowing experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Prior coaching experience, specifically in club or school level
- Ability to organize and administer training plans and to direct practices
- Exceptional communication and motivational skills
- Ability to establish positive relationships with our student-athletes, parents and school administration
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent personal character
- Experience operating motorized coaching launches
