Hannah Senesh Community Day School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a part-time (mostly remote) Development Associate for immediate start. Key responsibilities of this role are accurate, timely gift and pledge entry and acknowledgment. In conjunction with this responsibility, this person is also responsible for creating and updating donor demographic information and is also the primary person responsible for maintaining donation record files. The Development Associate should be a passionate, self directed, and strategic professional with a deep understanding of the diversity of the Brooklyn Jewish community.

The Development Associate Is a member of the advancement team and reports directly to the Director of Development. Salary for the half-time position is $28,000-35,000, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities:
- Receiving and processing all gifts in Raiser’s Edge, generating cash receipts and reports for the Business Office, cash, credit card, stock, and recurring gift processing; and producing donor acknowledgments and pledge reminders.
- Overseeing all aspects of data entry, ensuring records are accurately and regularly updated, including adding constituents and updating biographical information.
- Assisting with our annual fund, capital campaign, alumni and grandparent relations, special events and leadership volunteer relations.
- Reporting, processing, and transmitting gifts and pledges with accuracy in a timely manner.
- Creating and providing queries, donor lists, reports, correspondence and mailing lists, for inclusion in the Annual Report, and all Prizmah, NAIS and other surveys and reports, as needed.
- Conducting donor research and discovery activities.
- Ensuring database integrity with timely updates, data analysis queries and accuracy checks, reports, and data management.
- Assisting in coordination of direct mail (invitations, publications, etc.) and interface with the mail house on large mailings.
- Assisting with campaign materials and activities, as needed.
- Assisting with special events, as needed, such as Grandparents and Special Friends Day and various donor cultivation and recognition events, including taking RSVPs and producing nametags. Occasional evening hours are required.
- Proofreading, editing and writing as needed.
- Other tasks, as assigned, to fulfill the goals of the School and the Development Office.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years direct Raiser’s Edge and gift processing experience, knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred; experience with Crystal Reports a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, familiarity with Google Workspace and other related platforms desirable.
- Experience with data analysis, prospect identification, and donor acknowledgement.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, balance priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interface professionally with alumni, parents, grandparents, administration, faculty, and students.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and donor-centered. Superior organizational skills, an ability to work independently with minimal direction.
