Village Community School seeks to hire a Science Leave Replacement Teacher for Grades 4-6. This is a full-time position, from October 30, 2023 to April 30, 2024.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $132,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Affirm the identities of all members of our community.
- Actively teach engaging and motivating science lessons to 4th-6th Grade students of all abilities.
- Work collaboratively with the Division Directors and science teachers to implement and document an NGSS-aligned science curriculum that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Implement curriculum using principles of backwards design.
- Meet regularly with members of the Administration to receive feedback and mentorship.
- Collaborate with teachers and student support teams to monitor, assess, and document students’ academic and social emotional progress.
- Communicate standards, achievements, and areas of concern to students and parents.
- Meet and communicate with parents both formally and informally (email, phone calls, conferences, and written progress reports.
- Monitor students during additional duties such as lunch or recess.
- Attend grade level, science department, staff, and professional development meetings.
- Report directly to the Lower School and Upper School Directors.
