St. Anne’s School of Annapolis is hiring an Extended Day Staff member who will supervise, instruct, and guide young children (ages two through five) in a warm and nurturing environment before and/or after their regular school day. With the support of the Director, this teacher will establish a safe and caring classroom community in which each child’s strengths, opinions, actions, and thoughts are valued. The Extended Day Staff member will promote the school’s mission and conduct him/herself in a professional manner in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
This position will work under the direction of and with support from the Director of Summer and Auxiliary Programs.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Participates in Arrival and Dismissal duties daily.
- Records snack on monthly snack calendar.
- Chooses and prepares snack; returns unused snack to snack cabinet in pantry.
- Changes diapers and/or assists with toileting as necessary.
- Supervises all children, always maintaining proper staff/child ratios.
- Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the classroom (sweeps, wipes tables, washes art materials and dishes, returns used materials to proper places, etc).
- Communicates with parents regarding daily happenings.
- Attends and participates in new staff orientation and weekly planning meetings held by the Director.
- Acquires and maintains CPR/First Aid certification (School will cover this cost).
- Plays group games, creates simple art projects for children.
HOURS
Before Care hours are 7:00am-8:30 a.m. After Care hours are 3:00-6:00 p.m. You may apply to work Before Care and After Care (encouraged) or choose one option. Extended Day Staff might also be asked to provide care for full faculty professional and conference days.
Pay is $20/hour
