About Seven Peaks School:
Seven Peaks School is a Preschool-8th grade independent school in Bend, Oregon, serving approximately 240 students. We are an International Baccalaureate school focusing on forming globally minded, lifelong learners through inquiry-based classrooms and skill development.
Director of Development Position:
The Director of Development position will oversee all Seven Peaks School fundraising. The Director will focus on growing philanthropy through implementing a fall annual fund, conducting frequent personal meetings with donors to build relationships and identify giving opportunities, overseeing and implementing cultivation events with the school’s alumni and grandparents community, and supporting the annual spring gala. Additional activities will include coordinating with the Seven Peaks Community Organization, school, faculty and staff, and the Board’s Development Committee.
Essential Duties:
- Create, refine, and implement an annual development plan to achieve fundraising goals including program metrics, evaluation, and reporting.
- Implement a traditional fall annual fund, with a focus on individual giving from parents and grandparents.
- Manage and support volunteers in philanthropic activities.
- Produce annual appeals, donor communications, and other fundraising campaigns
- Develop and execute a stewardship plan for donors, including frequent in-person meetings with donors and prospects.
- Launch a donor database and maintain accurate donor information, including gift entry and thank you letters.
- Collaborate with Marketing/Communication Director on online communication including website, weekly e-newsletter, and social media.
- Continue to develop and improve outreach and engagement programs for school alumni and the grandparents community.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Seven Peaks School.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a development office, ideally with increasing responsibilities.
- A proven track record of planning and growing a nonprofit fundraising program from multiple sources including annual appeals and events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and familiarity with donor databases.
- Excellent organizational, administration, and project management skills.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively in team environments.
