Reporting to the Director of Research, the Portfolio Analyst and Researcher is responsible for performing a wide range of prospect management and research services including, but not limited to, prospect identification, data and trend analysis, detailed and general research, portfolio optimization, moves management, data mining and predictive modeling, electronic wealth screening analysis, and the preparation of briefings for advancement officers, the Head of School, and volunteers.
Responsibilities Include: In an effort to move prospects through the donor lifecycle, analyze development officer portfolios by providing insights on moves management, monitoring prospect stages, identifying areas of opportunity, and assisting in proposal management; utilize data mining techniques, data analytics, predictive modeling, and ad hoc reporting to support portfolio management, prospect identification, portfolio analysis, and proposal activity; proactively identify high quality prospects, ensuring that each fundraiser has a sufficient number of qualified prospects to meet or exceed goals; be persistent and imaginative in securing and analyzing a wide array of information, assertively collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data to aid in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting principal & major gifts donors. Seek opportunities to identify and leverage existing relationships to make connections to high net worth potential prospects; conduct research on families of newly enrolled students, meeting tight deadlines to support the Parent Engagement team; prepare detailed written prospect profiles on individuals (including current and prospective alumni and parent donors, potential trustees, and institutional award nominees) for advancement officers, the Head of School, and volunteers; validation of research findings from wealth screenings in advance of a campaign; in addition to working directly with the Leadership Gifts team, collaborate with the Parent Engagement program, Annual Fund staff, Alumni Relations, and Donor Relations. Will also regularly interact with and provide support to Advancement Services, particularly related to database maintenance matters and data retrieval; provide support to Chief Advancement Officer and Director of Leadership Gifts regarding highest level prospects and Trustees (including preparation of Trustee nomination profiles); directly interact with other offices on campus regarding current & former students, faculty, and staff; seeks out professional development opportunities via cross training, conference attendance, webinars, campus-wide resources, and team meetings.
**SIGN-ON BONUS**
The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of prospect research & management experience is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience in the prospect research & management, is preferred; experience with fundraising & on-line databases, web-based applications, and Microsoft applications in a Windows environment is required; excellent interpersonal and communication skills required; ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships, excellent organizational skills required; demonstrated ability in detailed conducting & writing research, data interpretation, and strategic planning; ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information; proven strong presentation skills and presence; possess excellent research, presentation, and organizational skills; be an effective writer; and be inquisitive; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong customer focus; ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously; strategic high-level thinking coupled with the attention to detail necessary for successful planning and execution; demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community; proven excellent client support skills with demonstrated evidence of strong business acumen; proficiency in using and understanding social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
