POSITION: LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE MIDDLE SCHOOL/UPPER ELEMENTARY ENGLISH-HISTORY TEACHER
Anticipated start time: November 27, 2023
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL, GRADES, 5-8
Essential Responsibilities, Duties and Skills include the following:
- Design and deliver inquiry-driven curriculum in English and History Alive! Curriculum using essential questions
- Collaborate with colleagues to design integrated curriculum, projects, and service-learning opportunities
- Create a classroom space that is differentiated, engaging, and responsive
- Integrate technology to support learning
- Identify and respond to individual students’ academic, social, and emotional needs, including learning differences in collaboration with Student Support Services
- Plan, design, and implement authentic assessment of student progress
- Write report cards and conference with parents
- Carry out other responsibilities and duties like clubs and recess-lunch supervision

Education and Experience
- A Master's Degree (preferred) or Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Clear, Single or Multiple Subject California Teaching Credential in related field preferred
- Minimum of three years teaching experience
- Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school math and humanities
- Experience with student-centered teaching, project-based learning, integrated curriculum planning, and authentic measures of student learning
- Excellent relationship-building skills and rapport with children
- A proven record of positive and constructive peer-to-peer collaboration
- Classroom management skills necessary to ensure a safe, productive, and positive environment
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Experience developing, writing, and delivering curriculum
- Ability to work effectively, communicate, and collaborate in a team situation
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Tech savvy
