Fundraising at Presentation High School
The Development and Engagement team at Presentation has adopted a three-lanes approach to our fundraising efforts with each lane representing an important phase of the giving experience that a donor moves through as they support our organization. The three-lanes approach is not a rigid prescriptive plan but rather a below-the-surface understanding of how effective fundraising really works. The three lanes align the strengths and capabilities of individuals who share a collective responsibility to advancing the mission of the organization and responsibility for creating a thriving fundraising operation.
Position Summary
The Individual Philanthropy Officer - creates a culture of giving through the cultivation of relationships with the school’s key stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), and in collaboration with Board Members, parents, and other major donors, this high-capacity fundraising professional will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with individuals for whom the school’s mission and vision is of significant meaning and value. The Philanthropy Officer will align his or her focused efforts with the broader, volunteer efforts and the Board of Directors strategic, long-term efforts.
The Philanthropy Officer assumes primary responsibility for developing and stewarding a network of Presentation’s individual donors capable of making significant charitable commitments to the organization. The network will consist of individuals representing student families, extended families, friends of the school, Board members, corporations and foundations. The Philanthropy Officer will create and implement engagement strategies for all portfolio donors and routinely review these engagement strategies with the CAO. In addition to their ability to work independently, the Philanthropy Officer will collaborate with the Office of the President, Education Team Leaders, Board members, and major donors in developing and implementing engagement and solicitation strategies.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- This individual will be expected to consistently represent the school in a variety of settings with a knowledge and understanding of school activities and growth. The Philanthropy Officer will consistently interact with, cultivate and solicit key stakeholders who will expect that the Philanthropy Officer will be highly-responsive to their interests and concerns.
- The Philanthropy Officer will be expected to maintain a strategic focus on engagement with those individuals within the network. This individual will be expected to spend the majority of his or her time directly or indirectly with these donors. This individual will have limited administrative responsibilities and no supervisory expectations so as to ensure the greatest ROI.
- As a high-capacity fundraising professional, it will be expected that this individual achieves measurable performance in the development of a donor portfolio, donor engagement, direct solicitation, charitable gifts received and renewal rates.

Minimum Requirements, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience and demonstrated success in fundraising/development, sales or related field with responsibilities and transferable/related skill set.
