Job Title: Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

Job Description:
Boston University Academy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Assistant Girls Basketball Coach. As the Assistant Coach, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the girls' basketball program, including practices, games, and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct regular practice sessions to improve players' technical abilities, teamwork, and understanding of the game.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance their individual skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to ensure effective coordination between the girls' basketball program and the overall athletic department.
Qualifications:
- Previous basketball coaching experience, preferably at the high school or club level.
- Sound knowledge of basketball strategies, techniques, and rules.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Availability to work weekday afternoon and evenings to accommodate practices and games.
- Current CPR certification preferred
- Current valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check upon job offer.
Season Schedule:
- The girls' basketball season will run from December 1, 2023 - February 23, 2024 (off for winter break December 10 - January 3)
- The expected weekly commitment for the Assistant Girls Basketball Coach is approximately 10-12 hours.
- Practices are held from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
