Buckingham Friends School seeks a long-term substitute lead Kindergarten teacher from December 2023 to the end of the school year. This position includes teaching all core subjects (Social Studies, Math, Reading, Writing, Science) to students in Kindergarten.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Former classroom experience working with early elementary students
- Experience with curriculum design and implementation
- Experience with project-based learning
- The capacity to teach children social-emotional and executive functioning skills
- A strong commitment to and experience with teaching issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB)
- A demonstrated track record of contributing positively to their former school(s)’ culture
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience with research-based literacy programs (ex: Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and Fundations) is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree, in either early childhood or elementary education; a Master’s degree in education or curriculum development is a plus.
