As a leading institution in the education sector, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Development Associate to join our Advancement team, reporting to the Director of Advancement. The Development Associate will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of The Meadows School by assisting in fundraising efforts and orchestrating special events that promote engagement and support from our diverse community of stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our institution while enhancing your skills in event planning, donor relations, and fundraising.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fundraising and Donor Relations:
- Donor Cultivation: Actively identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with new and existing donors, including individuals, businesses, and organizations.
- Gift Management: Handle all aspects of gift entry, acknowledgment, and reporting. Ensure proper reconciliation of gift records with the Business Office.
- Donor Research: Utilize various tools and resources to research potential and current donors, assessing giving potential and affinity towards the school.
Event Planning and Management:
- Event Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for fundraising, stewardship, and alumni events, including setting objectives, budgeting, and timelines.
- Logistics: Oversee all logistical aspects of events, such as venue selection, RSVP management, catering, and volunteer coordination.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct debriefing sessions following each event to assess what was successful and what needs improvement for future events.
Database Management and Reporting:
- Database Optimization: Serve as the primary point person for the Advancement database, ensuring its effective and efficient use for fundraising and community engagement activities.
- Monthly Reports: Generate and present monthly progress reports detailing fundraising activities, donor engagement levels, and upcoming opportunities.
- Financial Reconciliation: Work closely with the Business Office to reconcile giving records monthly, including checks, stock gifts, and online donations.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Alumni Engagement: Maintain an active presence within the alumni community, participating in both on-campus and off-campus events to foster long-term relationships.
- Strategic Communication: Collaborate with the Communications Team to develop and execute a multi-channel strategy aimed at keeping our alumni and parent communities informed and engaged.
- Community Outreach: Act as a Meadows School ambassador during community events, creating avenues for potential partnerships and collaborations.
Administrative Support:
- Office Management: Oversee daily administrative tasks within the Advancement Office, including supply orders, budget tracking, and workflow coordination.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and prepare materials for meetings, donor lunches, and dinners, both locally and regionally.
- Multi-Functional Support: Provide ancillary support to other areas within the Advancement Office such as annual giving programs, major and planned gifts, and alumni and parent relations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, and event planning.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in database management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
