Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Art Teacher to inspire and educate students in the creative world of visual arts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education, the ability to engage and motivate high school students, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. As a High School Art Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive art curriculum, guiding students in exploring various art forms, and nurturing their artistic talents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state and national standards while allowing for creativity and personal expression.
- Instruction: Provide engaging and effective instruction in a variety of art disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital media, and other forms of visual arts. The course load involves covering five sections.
- Classroom Management: Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, mutual respect, and collaboration among students.
- Assessment: Implement various assessment methods to evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback on their artwork.
- Individualized Support: Identify and address the unique needs and talents of each student, providing additional guidance and resources as necessary.
- Materials and Resources: Manage art supplies and resources efficiently, ensuring that the classroom is well-equipped for various artistic projects.
- Extracurricular Activities: Encourage student participation in art-related extracurricular activities and clubs, such as art exhibitions and contests.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest art education techniques, technologies, and trends by participating in professional development opportunities.
- Parent and Community Engagement: Foster open communication with parents and engage with the local community to promote the arts and showcase students' work.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of student progress, attendance, and artwork for reporting and planning purposes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Education or a related field.
- State teaching certification and licensure as an Art Teacher preferred
- Strong passion for art education and a deep understanding of art history and various art forms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using various art tools, software, and equipment.
- Classroom management and teaching experience, especially at the high school level.
- Patience, flexibility, and a creative approach to teaching and problem-solving.
