Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an Office Assistant for the Summer at Lakeside Office for summer 2024. The Office Assistant works from Feb.14-June 7, part time (15 hrs./week), with the option of working remotely. The weeks of Feb.19-23, April 8-12, and June 10-14 will be vacation weeks. The Office Assistant will transition to full-time, in-person work while our summer programs are running (8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday) June 17-Aug.5.
Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director of Summer at Lakeside and is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in providing administrative support for our summer programs.
- Collect and manage hiring paperwork for new hires on-boarded into our ADP HR system.
- Collect and track application materials from non-Lakeside students applying for Summer School.
- Conduct language proficiency interviews for international students applying to our summer programs.
- Manage, track, and distribute teacher supply orders.
- Assist Summer School Operations Manager in preparing orientation materials for Summer School Upper School and Investigative Learning Camp faculty orientations.
- Assist with office and classroom preparation at the beginning of the summer and with pack-up at the end of Summer School Programs.
- Supervise laptop check-out and check-in process.
- Manage Summer School Programs social media accounts.
- Assist Summer School Operations Manager with fielding parent, teacher, and student inquiries when they enter the Summer School Office.
- Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Operations Manager or Director of Summer School Programs
Requirements and Qualifications
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
- A bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Facebook; ability to learn new software systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification obtained before June 24.
- Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

- Positive and collaborative attitude
CompensationThe stipend for this position is $9,000. While working on campus, lunch is included.
