Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic Upper School History Long Term Substitute to cover a maternity leave. The term is January through April.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
- Teach sections of Upper School history courses: AP United States Government (3), Hamilton: History of an American Musical (1), and 1968: A Year that Changed the World (2).
- Design and implement lesson plans and assessments. Many materials will be provided to work from.
- Provide timely and proactive communication with students, parents, and advisors about student progress.
- Lunch is provided daily from 12:45-1:15.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree required; Prior teaching experience and master’s degree preferred.
Strong candidates will also have:
- a master’s degree or higher in History or a comparable discipline;
- experience teaching high school or college students;
- strong classroom management skills, proficiency with classroom technology; and
- an understanding of the value of an all-girls education and the eagerness to learn about the best ways to help young women of promise reach their full potential as learners and leaders.
